About
Yuta Ceramics is founded by Ramona Montecillo, a Filipino-Canadian Architect and artist. Based in Vancouver, her ceramics practice began from a desire to work more with her hands and engage in a slower, intentional process.Yuta, meaning earth or ground in Cebuano - her native Filipino dialect - is a nod to her roots and reflects the core of her design approach. Each piece reflects an iterative process of material exploration, refinement, and is ultimately characterized by a warm, minimal expression.
